Pregnancy and birth require the body to go through a vast amount of change to develop a new life. After going through such a life changing experience, many young mothers experience low back pain, muscle weakness, and poor posture due to the lack of direction of how to regain their strength.
Postpartum physical activity can improve mood, maintain cardiorespiratory fitness, improve weight control, promote weight loss, and reduce depression and anxiety. It also has a large impact on joint stability. Our program dives deep to:
Re-establish core power, stability and alignment, making sure the muscle of the abdomen, pelvic floor, and back are working to support each other. Not only does this allow for a stable back but also improves the quality of breath.
Once we have a strong core to work from we begin to strengthen the whole body to help stabilize the joints and to instill proper posture. This comes through a combination of bodyweight and stability exercises to challenge the new core strength and improve arm and leg strength.
When the body is ready we bring in squatting, deadlifting and other lifting and carrying mechanics to make sure that you and your baby stay safe and healthy
We offer morning and evening classes. Call us at 613-800-9800 for more information.
